Vintage lever action repeating rifle chambered in .30-30 Winchester, manufactured in New Haven, CT circa 1899. Features a blued finish, the 26" octagon barrel, full-length tube magazine, dovetailed blade front sight with polished top, rear sporting sight, single magazine band, lever safety, smooth walnut forend with metal cap, straight grip shoulder stock with smooth steel crescent buttplate. Bore is dark/rough with worn rifling. Retains about 30% original thin blue finish with edge losses, receiver shows a molted brown/gray patina with scattered very light pitting. Markings are clear/readable. Edges of barrel flats fairly sharp. Wood is very good/sound with minor scratches/dings, there are three small holes filled with plastic wood on both sides of the wrist, no cracks. Action works well. Comes with Cody firearms Museum letter confirming the octagon barrel and caliber. Shipped August 28, 1899.
